QUICK BRAG

February 22, 2012

My short story Galf was picked up by the Writer’s Bloc IV anthology put out every two years by the Henderson Writer’s group. I feel honored to be among a group of outstanding writers including Lisa McGlaun, Grace Andrews, Gary Buzick, A.L Campbell (Audrey Balzart), Vital Germaine, Sid Goodman, Kathie Harrington, Leslie Hoffman, Ray Katz, Patricia Kranish, Judy Logan, Michael Malony, Maudie Robinson, Amanda Skenadore, Darrah Whitaker, Jo Wilkins, Jay Yarbrough and Brian Yates.

Galf is the story of my dad and his #1 passion in life, golf. How the story got the title “Galf” is explained within, so I guess you’ll all just have to buy the book to find out! It should be out by April, just in time for the Las Vegas Writer’s Conference. Hey, didn’t I just write a couple of articles about….

Congrats, Fred, that’s great news! When will your novel about Melena be released in print?

      Carol,

Thanks! As for Meleena’s Adventures, sometime later this year they should start working on it. I still don’t have an exact date yet. I’ll keep you all posted when that happens.

GALF is very well worth the read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Am real happy that you’re finally getting your writings out there to the rest of us. You go, big guy! It’s long overdue and certainly deserved!

      Bonnie,

Woohoo! Great to hear from you! I’m glad you enjoyed Galf. It’s fixing to come out in print shortly in Writer’s Bloc IV. We were hoping it would be ready for the Las Vegas Writer’s Conference but it wasn’t. I sure had a lot of fun writing it and bringing back those old memories.

Soon I’ll be doing a few blogs on short story writing. Maybe I can help others do the same.

Thanks for writing. It’s been a while. Hope all is well!

      Fred
